Leeming SHS: Leeming Solar Car Team has a visit from the Minister for Energy

Saturday 20 October

The Minister for Energy The Hon. Fran Logan flew into Darwin to wish the Leeming Solar Car all the best for the World Solar Challenge.

The Minister had been in Broome and being so close chose to drop in and join the team for a BBQ Dinner and wish them well.

The Minister also read a letter to the team from the Premier The Hon. Alan Carpenter, congratulating them on their efforts in participating in the challenge for a second time.

The Minister said that he had hoped to be at the start of the World Solar Challenge to wave off both the Leeming and Willetton teams but unfortunately had to be back in Perth Sunday Morning.

The Minister also joined the team in wishing Danyal a Happy Birthday for next week. The crew from room 114 decided that they wanted to bake Danyal a cake for his birthday but weren't sure if they'd have access to an oven next week.

Well we're off to Adelaide tomorrow early start and probably a late night tonight.

Cheers all.
